He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Elizabeth "Betty" Marksberry; his children, Perry Marksberry and Robbynne Gumble (Artie) of Ft. Wright; his sister Joyce Waymeyer (Rich) of Florence; his grandchildren, Scott Gumble and Rachel Herr (Mitch); and his great grandchild Eli Herr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Church.
