He is survived by: his wife Carol Stenken Beirne; his sisters, Maureen Diffendal (Tom) and Jeanne Stebbene; his son Dion Smith (Sheri); his nephews, Sean (Erika), Matthew O'Brien (Cody), Kevin (Susan), Mike Beirne (Katie), Matt (Tina), Adam Diffendal (Brooke) and Andrea Guiltinan (Patrick); his grandchildren, Cameron and Jacob Smith; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ella, Hagan O'Brien, Barrett, Mason, Rory Beirne, Wyatt, Trent, Lauren Diffendal, Ethan and Elliot Guiltinan.
