Michael Clear Obituary

R. Michael Clear, 74, of Ft. Wright and formerly of Louisville and Ft. Thomas, passed away on January 15, 2023 at his residence. Mike was a retired Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with a successful private practice in Louisville. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Xavier University, the University of Kentucky's School of Dentistry, and completed his residency at the University of Louisville. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Dorothy Clear. He is survived by his daughter, Emily (Alex) Peterson; son, Brian (Olivia) Clear; sisters, Carol (Jerry) Combs & Patti (Joe) Hamad, and 2 grandchildren, Braden & Audrey Peterson. Visitation will be held from 11-1 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 1 p.m., Monday, January 23rd at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Ft. Thomas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of Mike's mother and his role in her care. Mike was a loving and beloved father, brother, son, grandfather, role model, a dedicated surgeon, a dear friend, and a resilient 12 year survivor of melanoma.
