He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chalfant and Mary Chalfant; his former wife Mary Jo Chalfant; and his brothers, Dan Chalfant and Robert Chalfant.
He is survived by: his former wife JoAnn Nienaber-Chalfant (Nee Battaglia); his children, John Chalfant (Kim), Tina Schierberg (Ken), Tim Chalfant (Julie), Mike Chalfant (Karen), Julie Voorhees (Darran), Joe Chalfant, Marty Nienaber and Mike Nienaber (Judy); his siblings, Louis R. Chalfant and Mary Beth Dowd; and his sister-in-law Rose Chalfant. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
