She was predeceased by: her parents, Laura and Frank Sommerkamp, Sr.; her son Captain Bill Averdick; her brothers, Paul and Bill Sommerkamp; and her sisters-in-law, Ruth and Frances Sommerkamp.
She is survived by: her husband Bob Averdick; her sons, Cub Scout, Mike Averdick (John Gerwe), Steve Averdick (Ruth Appel Averdick), Gary Averdick and Joe Averdick (Liz Lavandero); her daughter-in-law Joan Lampke Averdick; her niece Nell Brandner; and her brother Frank Sommerkamp (Pat). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
