He was predeceased by: his father Minor Daugherty; his sister June Smith; and his mother-in-law Esther Mussman. He is survived by: his wife Anne Daugherty; his daughters, Sharon Hoppenjans (Tom), Holly Ferguson (Bobby) and Dawn Miller (John); and his sisters, Marie Morrison and Patricia Pate. He is also survived by grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
