He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Henry Phetteplace Jr. and Ellen Moss Phetteplace; his wife Barbara Myers Phetteplace; and his sisters, Mossie Phetteplace Brown, Mary Lou Phetteplace Comerford and Beth Phetteplace Bailey.
He is survived by: his children, Louis Henry "Butch" Phetteplace IV (Cheryl) of West Bend, Wisc., Elizabeth Paige Phetteplace Terry (John) of Bristol, Tenn. and Mary Anderson Phetteplace "Missy" Powell (Chris) of Las Vegas, Nev.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
