He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Wheeler and Stella Wheeler; his son Michael Shane Wheeler; and his siblings, Marlene Scott, Roy Wheeler, Ray Wheeler, Avery Wheeler and Gary Wheeler.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela Wheeler; his son Chad Wheeler (Rachel); his grandchildren, Wesley Michael, Allison Lili, Darian, Jillian Ellis, Xavier Lea, Avery, Colt and Merryweather Wheeler; and his sisters, Mary Moberly, Lois Johnson, Charlene Philpot and Michelle Schneider. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
