She was predeceased by: her husband Howard James Gibson; her sister Laverne Thorton; and her grandson Robert Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Smith (Thomas), Bettie Gibson, Martha Perkins (Frank) and Nancy Hart (Robert); and her grandchildren, Amanda Christine Smith, Bryan Perkins, Bradley Perkins, Suzanne Julius, Ross Hart and Brock Hart. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
