She was predeceased by: her husband Philip Griffith; and her brother Bruce Slater. She is survived by: her son Matthew Slater; and her siblings, Emil "Butch" Leroy Slater, Jr., Rebecca "Becky" Rose Brinkman (Henry), Robert "Bob" Slater, Bonnie A. Dunihue, William "Bill" Paul Slater (Tammy) and Bradley Blake Slater.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home - Florence (8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Highland Cemetery (2167 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017).

“Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss of Barb. As my sister-in-law, we shared many memories that I will continue to cherish. Barb was such a good person with a big heart for others and for animals. She cared for many over the years and loved her family very much. We shared many conversations about gardening, baking, cooking and family over a good cup of coffee that she was known for. Barb was a postive influence in my life. Godspeed my friend, you will be sorely missed.”
