She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Thornsburg and Blythe McIlvain Thornsburg; and her son Brad Kennon. She is survived by: her close friend Michael E. Sapp; her daughter Crystal Kennon of Clay City; her grandson Nickolas Haines; and her siblings, Tony Thornsburg, Eddie Thornsburg, Tom Thornsburg, Willadean Gray, Joyce Evans and Dora Bussell. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
