He was predeceased by: his parents, Glinna Mae Nickels Simmons and Lewis Franklin Simmons; his children, Tamara Joyce Carpenter (Kenton) and Albert Thomas "Thom" Simmons; and his sister Litha Alice Lytle.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Jean Hamm Simmons; his daughter Laura Jean Mitchell (Steve); and his siblings, Elwood (Marcie Marie), Donald, Lewis (Marcie), Nellie Martin and Ada Ford (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
