He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Hicks and Rilda Hicks; his father-in-law George (Virginia Carter); his siblings, Kenneth "Brownie" Hicks, Jr., Harold Hicks, Raymond Hicks, Mary Magdalene "Mag" Hicks, Phyllis Jewel Hicks, Lula Hicks Cole Hughanote and Ruby Hicks; his grandson Kenneth Blake Hicks; and his son-in-law Tom Grant.
He is survived by: his wife Venora Carter Hicks; his children, Michael Hicks (Tammy), William Hicks, Jr. (Dale), Tammie Grant and Pamela Bailey (Alvin); his stepson Christopher Chapman (Helen); and his niece Betty Queen. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Ashland Community Hospice.
