He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Akers and Wanda Akers. He is survived by: his son Michael Akers; his significant other Patricia Foster; his daughter Tara Hodock; his stepdaughter Sharon Kitchen; his granddaughter Autumn Raeleigh Kitchen; and his half-sister Iva Rose Easterling. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
