It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Short of Flatwoods, Kentucky, born in Ashland, Kentucky, who passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Audie Adams and Phoebe Smith Adams; her husband Edward "Gene" Short; and her siblings, Noah Adams, Jewel Vanhoose and Betty McGuire.
She is survived by: her daughter Verna Sharp; her siblings, Nagatha Kendrick and Ron Adams; her nieces and nephews, Chris Kendrick, Jillian Banks (Jason), Max, Regan, Phoebe, Ellie Banks, Amy Littell (Mike), Mary Dietrich (Chris), Katie Cantrall, Andrew Littell, Cameron Littell, Ashley Hitt and Harley Paholsky; her close friends, Missy Williams, Carla Abrams and Phyllis Clark; and her pet Brandi Jean.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Flatwoods First Pentecostal Church.
