He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Boyd Sr. and Irma Childers Boyd; and his siblings, Jess Boyd Jr. and Virginia Collins (Ken). He is survived by: his wife Sally L. Boyd; and his children, Scott Boyd (Angie) and Jean Ann Webb (Jon). He is also survived by five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with four nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Raceland Christian Church Building Fund.
