He was predeceased by: his daughter Mikki; his parents, Elwood and Evelyn; and his siblings, Marian Barry, Janie Clark, Richard, Cyril, Bobby and John Merle.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Shacklette Waldrop; his daughter Bethany Whitlow (James); his grandson Hunter; and his sisters-in-law, Celia Waldrop, Angela Waldrop and Rosie Waldrop. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
