He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Drake and Rita Higdon Drake; his son Dwain "Bubba" Drake; and his grandson Lonnie Ray, Jr.. He is survived by: his son Lonnie Ray Drake, Sr.; his grandchildren, Megan McCubbins, Jordan, Emily and Angel Drake; and his brother Ray Drake. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
