She was predeceased by: her husband George Wilburn Dowdy; her sister Norma Parsons; and her parents, Wrenn Barton and Faye Wilferd Barton. She is survived by: her children, Rita Montgomery (Tom) of Owensboro, KY, Bradford Dowdy (Tracy) of McKenzie, TN and Regina Duncan (Mark) of Farmington, KY; her sisters, Patsy Sanderson of Mayfield, KY and Nancy Odom of Memphis, TN; and her grandchildren, Lindsey Montgomery, Abby Montgomery, Mallory Duncan and Will Duncan.
