It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nelson Davis Rodes Jr. of Farmers, Kentucky, born in Danville, Kentucky, who passed away on December 1, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Davis and Mary McDowell Rodes; his son Nelson Davis Rodes III; and his brothers, Clifton Rodes (Barbara), Robert Rodes (Georgia) and Joe Rodes (Barbara).

He is survived by: his wife Martha Butler Rodes; his children, John Butler Rodes (Julie), Charles Henry Rodes and Martha "Priss" Rodes Hovious (Gregg); his grandchildren, Nelson D. Rodes, IV (Mary Jane), William B. Rodes (Jessie), Mary C. Rodes, Katharyn D. Hovious, Robert R. Hovious and Sam M. Hovious; and his brother Charles Rodes (Clare). He is also survived by three great-grandsons.

Memorial donations are suggested to Centre College, Danville Public Library, KET, and The Presbyterian Church.
