She was predeceased by: her father Norman Gillespie; her husband James Wade Scaggs; her sisters, Patricia "Patty" Courtney and Penny Gillespie King; her parents-in-law, James C. "Jay" and Patricia Bea "Pat" Myers Scaggs; and her nephew Drew Downard.

She is survived by: her mother Mary Lee Gillespie of Falmouth, KY; her daughters, Stefanie Scaggs of Falmouth, KY and Sara Scaggs (Adam Roseberry) of Falmouth, KY; and her siblings, Bonnie Windham (Reggie), Genie Gillespie (Sharon), Joyce Brown (Jim), Tony Gillespie (April) and Tammy Gillespie. She is also survived by extended family and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Pendleton County Relay for Life, the Landen Joseph Spence Foundation, or for masses in memory of Kaye at St. Francis Xavier Church.
