He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Coater, and James N. Coater, Sr.; and his siblings, Betty Sharp, Gary Coater, James N. Coater, Jr. and Sam Coater.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Coater; his children, Christopher Hideki Coater, David Masaki Coater, Thomas Naoki Coater and Jeffery Coater (Tammy); his siblings, Constance Coater and Timothy Coater (Judy); and his grandchildren, Jeffrey Coater, II (Amber), Cassie Coater, Kevin Coater (Savannah) and Nick Coater (Faith). He is also survived by great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family requests that memorial contributions in Paul's honor be made to Hospice.
