He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gentry and Mary Louise Gentry; his daughters, Angela and Sonja Gentry; and his brother Bob Gentry.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Gentry; his daughters, Karen Gentry Brooks (Jason) of Houston, TX, Wendy Michelle Gentry of Virginia and Rebecca Evans (Doug) of Houston, TX; and his stepsons, David Futrell (Maggie) of Centerton, AR and Mike Futrell (Pam) of Huntsville, AL. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
