He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Leach and Mabel Bailey Leach; his sisters, Lucille Sowards and Marie Sowards; and his nephew David Michael Sowards.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Ingram Leach of Ezel, Kentucky; his children, Chris Mays of Frenchburg, Greg Hamm (Shawn) of Ashland, Kentucky and Pollyanna Gilbert (Mike) of Campton, Kentucky; and his niece Miram Sowards Elam. He is also survived by four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
