He was predeceased by: his parents, Reed Murphy and Lucille Murphy of Ezel, KY. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Howard Murphy; his sons, Quentin (Jenny Murphy) and Jarred (Catrina Murphy); and his grandchildren, Olivia Murphy of Ezel, KY, Oakley Murphy of Ezel, KY and Jocelynn Murphy of Ezel, KY.
