He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmer King and Irene Nimety King. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Laws King; his son Christopher Lynn King of Evarts; his sister Janet Gail Craigmile (Paul) of Missouri; his sisters-in-law, Patsy Alley (Joe), Onvis Laws and Glenna Laws; his aunts and uncles, Margaret, John Hoerner, Pauline King, B. H. and Gilbert; and his close friends, Steven Hubbard of Stacey Skidmore, B. J, Lefevers and Dalton Lay.
In his memory donations may be made to the Harlan County Animal Shelter or the Harlan County Humane Society.
