He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Canady Penix; his parents, David Eli Penix and Anna Mae Frost Penix; his son Bruce Penix; and his siblings, Bernice Penix Henzie and David Eli Penix, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Connie Penix of Dizney, Ovie "Frosty" and Roger Penix (Lisa); his sister Ramma Lee Simpson Wysong of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, April Caudill (Chris), David, Kristalee, Kelsey, Eli, Owen and Madilyn Penix; and his great grandchildren, Breana Caudill, Jillian Caudill, Jadeyn Caudill, Chris Caudill, Leland Caudill and Blaine Caudill. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
