She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Evans and Hazel Rutherford (Spears); her husband Fred Buchanan; and her siblings, Clifford Rutherford, Opal Jewell Habermehl, Mary Dean Nash and Barbara Cleo Brock.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Lynn Buchanan and William Allen Buchanan (Shannon); her brother Tommy Rutherford; and her grandchildren, Trey Carey, Titus Carey and Keira Buchanan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
