He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ella Mae West Norfleet; his daughter Amanda of Somerset; his stepsons, Darius West of Eubank, Darrell and Black of Nicholasville; his granddaughters, Harlie and Sydney Black; and his brothers, Milford, Chet of Science Hill, Norfleet of Science Hill, Bobby of Science Hill, Herbert Jones of Thompson Station, Jay Smith of Stanford and Dave Bailey. He was also cherished by brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
