He was predeceased by: his parents, John Combs and Martha Reynolds Combs; his wife Betty Jo Picklesimer Combs; his siblings, Gladys Lindholm of Richmond, Sid Combs of London and Hugh Combs of Lexington; and his grandson Jonathan Barkley Combs of Richmond.
He is survived by: his brothers, Dan Combs (Penny) of Whitesburg and Henry Combs (Coetta) of Richmond; his children, Joy Hoeflinger (Bob) of Harlingen, Keith Combs (Sarah) of Richmond and Chris Combs (Heather) of Irvine; his grandchildren, Phillip Hoeflinger (Rocio) of Harlingen, TX, Kara Hoeflinger of Harlingen, TX, Thomas Combs (Emily) of Douglasville, Georgia, Catherine Jones (Marion) of Phenix City, Erin Combs of Lexington and Matthew Combs of Richmond; and his great grandchildren, Isaac, Samuel, Aaron, Hannah of Sadie, J. R., Emmett and Lily.
