He was predeceased by: his father George Elkins; and his sister Mabel Iseley. He is survived by: his children, Steve Elkins (Maria), Sheri Jackson (Paul), Karen Lowe and Brian Elkins (Janet); and his sister Imogene Walters. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Village Players of Fort Thomas.
