He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hughes and Naomi Hughes; and his siblings, Patricia Fulmer, Ross Hughes and William Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Joani Weller; his daughters, Meredith Martino of Alexandria, VA and Michelle Velazquez; his son-in-law Alex Velazquez of Orlando, FL; his son Gregory Hughes II; his grandchildren, Claudia, Isaac, Louis, Cheyanne and Violet; and his brother Carl Hughes of Covington. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Immanuel UMC youth group.
