He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Sturgill and Violet Stidham Sturgill; and his sisters, Rosie Taulbee and Dovie Holland. He is survived by: his wife Betty Lorene Sturgill; his daughter Elizabeth Sturgill of Virginia; his siblings, Earl Sturgill of Auburn, Winston Sturgill of Dry Fork and Doris Tigner of Virginia; and his grandchildren, Nikki Smith, Cody Smith, Lauren Smith, Tyler Johnson and Candace Johnson.
