He was predeceased by: his wife Anna Lee Maggard; his children, Billy Maggard and Betty Maggard; his grandsons, Kenneth Banks and Bennett Banks Jr.; and his parents, James Maggard and Dinah Maggard.
He is survived by: his son Johnny Maggard Jr.; his grandson Keith Maggard; his niece Sara Mae Maggard; his close friend James Thornsberry; and his sister Opal Mae Patterson of Castlewood. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren.
