He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie and William Henry Mason, Sr.; his wife Sarah Louise Mason (Johnson); his children, Shirley Jean Smith and William H. Mason, III; his grandson Ricky Darnell Smith; and his siblings, James Mason, Sr., Charles Mason, Ralph Mason, Ann E. Morehead (Mason), Lucille and Carolyn Mason.
He is survived by: his children, Dorothy Few (John) of Rochester, Michigan. and Marion McNeal Mason (Deborah) of Jamaica; his brother Julius Mason, Sr. of Eminence; his sister-in-law Bertha Mason; his grandchildren, Sandra Smith of Shelbyville, William Smith of Columbus, OH, John Few (Trisha) of Rock Hill, SC, Michael Few (Lisa) of Concord, NC, Phillip Smith (Renee) of Eminence and Joanne McWilson (Glenn) of Seattle, WA.; his great grandchildren, Jimmy, Bradford, Indigo, John IV, Elyse, Sarah, Sigourney, Brooklyn and Shonnette; and his great great grandchildren, Traevon, Keonna, Emma Grace, Malik and Ameila.
