He was predeceased by: his wife Mary "Ginny" Ethington of Virginia; his parents, Grover C. Ethington and Samantha Ethington Rinehart; and his siblings, Elizabeth "Lib" Riggs, Cora Ruble, Ella B. Reed, Ann Willard, Grover C. "Huck" Ethington, Jr. and Charles Ethington.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Douglas (Phillip) of Pleasureville and Robbie Ethington (Deborah) of Eminence; his sisters, Geneva Darnell of Taylorsville and Christine Sacra "Teeny" of Louisville; his grandchildren, Erica Ethington Boyd, Erin Leanhart, Phillip Robert Douglas and Michael Douglas; and his great grandchildren, Jude Robert Douglas and Easton Lee Boyd.
