He was predeceased by: his mother Ada Marie King (Smith); and his brothers, Jerry and Mark King. He is survived by: his father Basil Sherman King (Phyllis) of Southville; his children, Nikki Lindsey (Mark) of LaGrange and Jeremy King (Renee Sullivan) of Eminence; his siblings, Sherman King (Gina) of Smithfield, Linda King (Terry Keown) of Eminence and Patricia Utley (Bruce) of Crestwood; and his fiancée Donna Kaelin of Eminence.

Memorial contributions may be made to WHAS Crusade for Children.
