He is survived by: his wife Kay Coomes (Poe) of Eminence; his children, Cathy Moore of Independence, KY and Benny Coomes (Lisa) of Smithfield; his brothers, John W. "Johnny" Coomes, II (Carol) of Eminence and William R.; his grandchildren, Jacob Moore (Emily Kate), Rachael Sholar (Greg), Emily Downing (Ben) and Andrew Coomes (Terralynn); and his great grandchildren, Brody, Brooks, Everly Kay and Parker.
Burial: Eminence Cemetery, Pallbearers: Jacob Moore, Andrew Coomes, Palmer Coomes, Harold Frazier, Jerry Roberts and Bobby Brewer Form of contributions may be given to the Ben P. Coomes Scholarship Fund, c/o Eminence Independent Schools; Hosparus, or Eminence Baptist Church.
