She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lee Armstrong and Lorena Armstrong (Crawford); her husband Alfred Hayden, Sr.; her siblings, Louise Nichols (Armstrong), Patricia Whitney (Armstrong), Gloria Armstrong and George Armstrong, Jr.; and her close friend Elizabeth Bailey.
She is survived by: her children, Josephine Higgins, Eric Paul Bachelor (Brenda), Stanley Williams and Alfred Hayden, Jr.; her stepson Vance Blade (Vivian); her siblings, Elizabeth "Libby" Mullins (Armstrong), Margaret Goodloe (Armstrong), William "Bill" Armstrong (Marla), Gracie Mae Armstrong and Geraldine Armstrong; her grandchild Jamar Higgins Cook (Khary); and her stepgrandchildren, Olivia Blade and Percy Blade (Dani).
