She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester Hatton and Grace Combs Hatton; her former husband Harry Messer; her husband Ivel Ison; and her siblings, Larry Hatton, Paul Hatton, Lee Hatton, Bill Hatton, D. C. Hatton and Wilda Hatton.
She is survived by: her sons, Mike Messer of Littcarr, Rick Messer of Elkton, Jeff Messer of Sharon Grove, Robert Messer of Louisville and Paul Messer of Elkton, Kentucky; and her brothers, Vernol Hatton of Blackey and Boyd Hatton of Isom, Kentucky.. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
