It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David O'Dell Shumate of Elkton, Kentucky, who passed away on January 1, 2021, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Norris Ray Shumate and Mary Elsie Jones Shumate; and his grandson Wyatt Layne Powell. He is survived by: his girlfriend Donna Gibson of Elkton, KY; his daughters, Tara Powell (Jesse) of Adams, TN and Kelly Jarillo of Whitehouse, TN; his siblings, Danny Shumate (Beth) of Hopkinsville, KY, Steve Shumate of Pemroke, KY, Sharon Carver of Hopkinsville, KY and Shelley Markham of Elkton, KY; and his grandchildren, Aleeah Powell, Ariana and Madalyn Jarillo.

Visitation will be Friday January 8, 2021 from 12 noon until the service hour at 1:00 p. m. Mask and social distancing will be observed.
