With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Carter of Elkhorn City, Kentucky, who passed away on October 13, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Hughes and Elsie Hughes; her husband Tommy Daryl Carter; her sons, Tommy Daryl Carter Jr. and Ricky Carter; and her siblings, Jessie Hughes and Barbara Gethins.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kim Cure (John) of Elkhorn City, KY, Sherry Cure (Leslie) of Rutledge, TN and Teresa Ann Damron of Elkhorn City, KY; and her grandchildren, Michael Cure, Haley Cure Morton, Brad Cure, Chad Cure, Daria Damron and Josie Carter. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
