He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Epling and Roma Looney Epling; his son Michael Reed Epling; and his siblings, Thomas, Jimmy Jr., John Henry, Reed Epling, Opal Williams, Orva Wild, Ruby Little and Norma Epling.
He is survived by: his son Ben Epling (Teresa) of Elkhorn City, KY; his sister Betty Matney of Little Beaver, KY; his grandchildren, Mandy Lindsey, Misty Bowen, Matthew Epling, Nicholas Epling, Billy Mike Epling and Bemedji Epling; and his great grandchildren, Bella, Reed, Lucy, Ashlyn, Landon, Brody, Penny, Colton, Lane and Cecilia.
