With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lyle Carl Rakes of Elk Horn, Kentucky, who passed away on February 25, 2025 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernal Henry Rakes and Ruth Raikes Rakes; his wife Connie Pittman Rakes; and his sisters, Dorothy Rakes, Wilma Lawson, Janet Hall and Bonnie Bush.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Rakes, April Thompson of Campbellsville, Anthony Rakes of North Carolina and Lisa Lucas of Florida; his stepchildren, Terry Abell of Calvary, Holly Abell of Gravel Switch and Cathy Abell of Louisville; and his siblings, Ella Mae Reed, Vernal Ray Rakes, Wayne Rakes, Joseph Rakes, David Rakes, Shelby Clark, Patricia Malson and Lucy Rakes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the L. R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service (1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718).
