He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dantzler and Ruby Duggan Dantzler; his sister Kay Castine; and his brother-in-law Jimmie Baker. He is survived by: his wife Shelly Mikell Hampton Dantzler of Elizabethtown; his daughters, Rebecca Dantzler Messamer (Larry) of Colorado Springs, CO, Sarah Kay Thurstenson (Chris) of Siloam Springs, AR and Beth Mikell Singleton (David) of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Jason Messamer (Shauna) of Colorado Springs, CO, Andrew Messamer (Tori) of Colorado Springs, CO, Steven Messamer of Colorado Springs, CO, David Thurstenson and Abby Thurstenson of Fayetteville, AR; and his siblings, Robert Carrol Dantzler (Martha Clair) of Roanoke, VA and Sandy Baker (late Jimmie Baker) of Pensacola, FL..
