She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Sutherland and Bertha Brown Sutherland; her husband Martin V. Skaggs; her daughters, Virginia Holbert (Michael) and Patsy Roy (Leonard); her grandsons, Troy Holbert and Joey Hughes; and her siblings, Rosa Walker, Mildred Brashear, Frances Sutherland, Walter Sutherland and Alex Sutherland.

She is survived by: her children, Betty Brooks and Tommy Skaggs (Carolyn) of Elizabethtown; and her grandchildren, Keith Snider (Kim) of Washington, MO, Janet Snider of Rosebud, MO, Kevin Snider of Elizabethtown, Douglas Skaggs (Chrissy) of Elizabethtown, T. J. Skaggs (Shannon) of Elizabethtown, Michael Skaggs (Carrie) of Elizabethtown, Christy Roy of Elizabethtown, Melissa Roy of Louisville, Sheila Durbin of Bardstown and Greg Holbert of Bardstown. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.
