It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley A. Hawthorne of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on December 28, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Mercer and Emma Mercer (Berlin); her husband Gene Hawthorne; and her brothers, Thomas and Allen Mercer.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Jackson (Jackie), Linda and Chris Stieb (Cindy); her sister Christine Gehret (Sis); her grandchildren, Renee Dickenson (Johnny), Jennifer Koehler (Frank), Kelly Ferrel (Noe), Michael, Stephanie and Melissa; her great grandchildren, Austin, Tristan, Johnny, Georgia, Peyton, Ayden and Emma; and her great great grandchild Alice.
