He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronald Shumate and Rebecca Maude Strader Vincent; his stepfather Guy W. Vincent, Sr.; and his siblings, Guy W Vincent, Jr., Mark Vincent, Ricky Shumate and Faye Decker.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginny" Reeser Shumate; and his siblings, Shelia Duran and David Vincent. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
