He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Byrd and Lola Apple Byrd; and his former wife Una Alice Winchell Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Myrna Byrd (Sutherland McCullum); his children, Jo Ann Coehoorn (James), Robert Ray Byrd, Thomas Neal Byrd (Martha) and Saranell Kaufmann (Kris); and his stepchildren, Donna Lynn Franey, Joan Marie Berry, Laura Lee Sutherland and James Robert Sutherland. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
