She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Thomas and Virgie Allison Berry Shipley; her husband Louis Garnett Franklin Jr.; her brother Waylan; her sister-in-law Willodean Shipley; her son-in-law James Blalock; and her pet Benjamin "Ben" Franklin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Garnetta Blalock, Donna Louise Borders (Don), Malia Jayne Cook (Darrell) and Sherri Renee Perkins (Bill). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Heart Association, Hosparus, Kosair Children's Hospital or your favorite charity.
